Gasparilla Pirate Festival
-
This Pirate themed parade takes place every year in January and celebrates the victory over the pirate, Jose Gaspar, who would terrorize the local waters. This festival has a huge parade, live music, local vendors and much more. The entire city celebrates this event and Bayshore and other roads are closed down, so keep that in mind. There are pregames on every corner as everyone awaits the “pirate invasion”, which is where a mock Pirate ship will make its way in to the bay to “attack” Tampa. This is the beginning of the festival and then everything from there is party, party, PARTY!
